FREE-RANGE EGGS

About Naturally Vietnam Eggs

egg
Where are the Naturally Vietnam eggs produced?
Our eggs exclusively come from 2 farms in the Thanh Xuan and Nam Son commune of the Soc Son district, north of Hanoi.

How are the hens kept?
The farming system is called « free-range ». Hens are free to move between a well-ventilated hen house and a fenced yard with trees.

What do the hens eat?
In addition to the grass, leaves, worms and insects that they can find in and on the ground, the hens eat a well-balanced feed that does not contain antibiotics, manufactured in Hanoi by GUYOMARCH-VCN, a French-Vietnamese company.

In Vietnam, what is the main health risk for consumers eating eggs?
Many farmers very frequently give antibiotics to their hens to prevent and treat diseases. Some feed also contain antibiotics. These chemicals automatically go into the eggs. Consequences on health are not immediate: the presence of antibiotic residues at levels higher than the accepted doses contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance of bacteria, of cancers and of other diseases.

Does this risk exist with the Naturally Vietnam eggs?
No. Our eggs are fully antibiotic-free because the feed does not contain antibiotics and because our hens are carefully vaccinated and more resistant to diseases because of the free-range system. Transmission of diseases from other farms is almost impossible due to our strict control of the entries by people into our farms.

How fresh are the Naturally Vietnam eggs?
Eggs are collected by hand at least twice a day and stored below 20 degrees Celsius. They are sold between 1 and 7 days after the laying date and can be eaten up to 28 days after the laying date.

Who is in charge of checking the eggs’ quality?
The Vietnamese and French veterinarians of ASVELIS in partnership with the public vets of the Soc Son district. Their role is especially to ensure that the hens remain in good health and that the eggs are collected, inspected, stored and transported in optimal conditions. They have therefore a dual role of protecting the health of the animals and the health of the consumers.

Are there many intermediaries between the farm and the consumer?
No. Eggs are transported directly from the farms to the selling points. This facilitates the traceability of the eggs, put more responsibility on the people working in the farms and give them the means to pay more attention to quality.

Is it possible to visit the farms?
Yes. It is a good way to be convinced that we do what we say and we say what we do

The Farmer

Mr. Sang takes care of his 500 hens in a comfortable shelter and tree-filled garden in the commune of Thanh Xuan, Soc Son, Hanoi. In addition to what they can eat from the garden, the hens are given feed manufactured by professional nutritionists. This, plus the very good health status of the hens, means that the 400 eggs collected every day are guaranteed free of antibitic residues!

In 2011, ASVELIS set up one more farm of about 2000 hens in Nam Son, Soc Son, Hanoi in respond to the increasing demand on these high quality antibiotic-free eggs among family & food service customers.
